Getting It Right First Time |
Q |
How is a cavity wall insulation installed? |
A | The cavity wall is injected with insulating material by drilling holes in the external wall, through the mortar joint, holes are made good after injection |
Q |
How long does it take? |
A | It normally takes around two hours to install, but the time does depend on the size of the house and other factors, such as access
Q |
How long will the insulation last? |
A | For the life of the building-the British Board of Agreement say so |
Q |
Is my house suitable?
A | Before installation, we will undertake an assessment of your property |
Q |
My House is semi-detached, how do they stop insulation going into next doors cavity? |
A | Assuming your neighbour's house is not already insulated, the technician will insert a cavity barrier at the party wall line. Of course if the neighbour's house were to be insulated this would not be needed |
Q |
Is there much mess? |
A | The drilling process inevitably creates a little dust, which will be cleared at completion. It may be wise to move vehicles from the property & things close to the walls, this also helps with access. |
Q |
Will my house be warmer? |
A | Yes, if not controlled by a thermostat, if controlled by thermostat the room will reach temperature quick & more efficiently. Result should be an even temperature throughout the house & or a reduced fuel bill.
